Fifth day of bombing in Gaza

A concerted diplomatic drive is under way to try to end Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip and Palestinian militant rocket attacks.

But raids have continued into the fifth day, as Gaza City and Rafah awoke to more damaged buildings.

Israeli targets included a Gaza City mosque, which the Israeli military says Hamas used as a missile base.

Hamas rockets have also continued to hit southern Israel.
