| Tuesday, 22 February, 2000, 18:00 GMT Egyptian film director dies The Egyptian film director, Hossam Eddin Mustafa, has died at his home in Cairo. His funeral was due to be held on Tuesday. Mr Mustafa graduated in the United States in the early 1950's, and was an assistant to the Hollywood director, Cecil B de Mille, before returning to Egypt in 1956. He directed over a-hundred films and numerous popular television dramas. After the 1979 Israeli-Egyptian peace accord, Mr Mustafa caused controversy by visiting Israel several times, saying he saw nothing wrong with Arab artists going there in the cause of peace.
