Saudi Arabian officials say a suspected militant has been shot dead and another injured in the capital, Riyadh. The Interior Ministry has said the security forces tried to stop a suspect car in the city's eastern suburb of Roda, but were fired on.
The two men gave chase, and there was an exchange of fire when the car was eventually brought to a halt.
The injured man escaped into a house in the area. Police stormed the building seven hours later and arrested him.
Police are now investigating the identities of the two men.
According to the Saudi SPA news agency, no civilians were injured in the incident.
Wanted list
Saudi Arabia has been dealing with an upsurge in violence by Islamic militants who US officials say are linked to Saudi-born Osama Bin Laden's al-Qaeda network.
More than 50 people - including the bombers and many foreigners - were killed in two attacks against residential compounds in Riyadh in May and November last year.
In December, the government published the names and pictures of 26 men it suspected of involvement in terror attacks within the country.
So far, three on the list have been killed and one surrendered.
