Many dead in Egypt road crash
A horrific road crash near the Egyptian city of Minya has left at least 21 people dead and 39 injured.

A bus burst into flames after it was in collision with a van, and flipped over in the dawn incident 230 km (140 miles) south of the capital, Cairo.

Most of the passengers aboard were burnt alive and five children are among the dead, a police source told AFP news agency.

The source added that the driver of the bus appeared to have dozed off behind the wheel.

Two of the victims were babies.

Correspondents said it was one of the worst accidents in Egypt this year.

Fatal road accidents are frequent in Egypt where many drivers ignore road safety regulations.
