Russia has held first funerals of some of the victims of Monday's double suicide bombings in the Moscow Metro, which left 39 people dead and scores injured.
In the capital, people continued to pay their last respects to those who died in the bomb attacks at the Park Kultury and Lubyanka Metro stations, amid heavy police presence.
Crowds of mourners lit candles and placed flowers during rallies across the city in memory of the dead.
In a separate development, two more suicide bombings struck Russia, killing at least 12 people in the North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan.
Nine police officers were among the dead and more than 20 people were injured in the attacks in the town of Kizlyar.
President Dmitry Medvedev called the two attacks "links of the same chain", hinting that the bombers were linked to militants from the North Caucasus. Hours later, Chechen rebel leader Doku Umarov claimed responsibility for the Moscow blasts.
