Opposition protesters in the Thai capital, Bangkok, have splashed their own blood at Prime Minister Abhisit Vejajjiva's residence, on the fourth day of a mass rally to demand his resignation and new elections.
The demonstrators then paraded through the streets of Bangkok, bringing traffic in parts of the capital to a standstill.
On Tuesday, the red-shirted demonstrators - many of whom support ousted former PM Thaksin Shinawatra - poured blood in front of the government building, describing the cabinet as illegitimate.
Thousands of riot police were there to meet the protesters, but after negotiations a small group was allowed to move forward.
Blood donated by thousands of people was then spilled from plastic bottles and oozed under the gates of Government House.
Red-shirt leader Veera Musikapong said the blood was a symbolic gesture of sacrifice which showed the movement's "love for the nation".
The demonstrators say the current administration came to power illegally because it was not elected by the people. They want him to dissolve parliament and call snap elections.
The bloody protest was also staged in front of the headquarters of Mr Abhisit's Democrat Party.
