Rescue efforts are continuing in central Chile after Saturday's massive earthquake that killed more than 700 people and left thousands more homeless.
Many people are still missing in some of the worst-hit areas amid fears they may be trapped in collapsed buildings.
Harrowing scenes of destruction are beginning to emerge in coastal towns swamped by tsunami waves, following the 8.8 magnitude quake.
In the town of Constitucion alone, about 350 people are reported to have died and a local gym has been turned into a makeshift morgue.
In Concepcion, a city close to the epicentre of the quake, looters - desperate for food and medicine - have ransacked supermarkets and chemists.
Riot police and the army are now patrolling the country's second largest city, where a curfew was imposed on Sunday. The restrictions also apply in the region of Maule.
In the nearby town of Talcahuano, some local residents have armed themselves to protect their property from looters.
Many people in the region spent the night on the street, fearing new tremors.
