A massive fire broke out outside Puerto Rico's capital San Juan, following an explosion at an oil storage and refinery site outside the city.
The blast at the Caribbean Petroleum facility happened in the early hours on Friday, and was reportedly the equivalent of a 2.8-magnitude earthquake.
Officials in the US self-governing commonwealth closed schools in San Juan and evacuated about 120 families from the areas near the facility.
More than 150 firefighters sprayed burning fuel tanks with water and foam to try to reduce the risk of further explosions.
Miraculously, no-one was reported killed, however several people required treatment for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
The blast was initially being treated as an accident, but police and FBI agents were at the scene for a further investigation.
