In pictures: Super Bowl half-time show

Bruce Springsteen rocked the Super Bowl stage on Sunday night in Tampa, Florida, proving he was still The Boss during a spectacular half-time show.

Springsteen and his E Street Band had turned down invitations to play at the Super Bowl show over the years, but changed their minds after the slot attracted other acts like U2 and The Rolling Stones.

Springsteen promised a 12-minute party, and then told the estimated 100 million television viewers: "I want you to put the chicken fingers down and turn your television all the way up."

The four-song set opened with Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.

Springsteen worked in one of his trademark knee slides but slid into one of the on-stage cameras, and seemed a bit winded when he launched into Born to Run.

Next up was a new song Working on a Dream - which was backed by a choir.

Springsteen closed the set with Glory Days, changing some of the lyrics to give it a football theme.

Two hours earlier, Jennifer Hudson had made a return to the stage, singing out the US national anthem two months after the murders of her nephew, brother and mother.

Hudson is now resuming her performing schedule, including an appearance at the 8 February Grammy Awards, where she has four nominations.
