Gavin and Stacey actress and writer Ruth Jones presented her final Sunday Brunch show for BBC Radio Wales, live from the square at Barry Island. She said having the finale in Barry was "the icing on the cake". Gavin and Stacey fans Ian, Sian and Jack said they wanted to show their support for Jones on her last radio show. Co-star and fellow writer James Corden received a huge cheer when he was introduced by "dear friend" Jones. When they announced the third series, Corden said: "Truly we will absolutely try our best not to let you or the show down." Not aloud - Corden raised some of the biggest laughs when he tried putting off members of the Only Men Aloud choir while they performed. As well as pinching one member's bottom, Corden went to take his trousers off at one point. Another actor from the hit comedy Steffan Rhodri, who plays Nessa's love interest Dave in the series, reviewed the Barry Gem newspaper for the show. In his interview, Robert Plant recalled how Led Zeppelin's manager Peter Grant had tripped and fallen on Elvis Presley's father Vernon in the band's first meeting with the singing legend. Jael Jones brought her dog Harry to the event. She said: "I would love to see a third series. The characters are brilliant. Everyone must have an Uncle Bryn in their family." Another son of Barry, Derek Brockway was wrapped up warm. The BBC weather forecaster said his Weatherman Walking show was also getting a third series. Linda and Sandra said they had been listening to Jones' Sunday Brunch show since it first came on Radio Wales 12 weeks ago. "We think she is great," they said. "We want her to stay on the radio but she is so in demand she can't do it all." Among those to get a shout out during the day were Barry Netball Club. Sara Hardy from the club said they thought Nessa would make a great goal defence and Stacey an excellent centre. The live broadcast attracted up to 1,000 people including Nessa who asked the crowd "what's occurring?" She also answered questions and said of Robert Plant: "I'm not impressed, I've met many rock legends in my time, they're 10 a penny in my life."
