Oscar Augusto Risch: "This is my parent's street in Joinville in Santa Catarina State. There is half a metre of water in their house and we have lost a lot of furniture and electronics..." "...Fortunately, we can recover these and are praying for the other families. Joinville has been badly flooded and it is still raining but it is not the worst affected area." The heavy rainfall caused landslides that have blocked roads in the region. Roads in Brusque near Blumenau have been completely flooded... ...Transport throughout the state has been paralysed with roads blocked by mud and water. Photo: Rafael Risch Anna Cullum: "We are on the island of Florianopolis where there has been some severe flooding and at least one landslide. This is my friend Phil wading across our road to move his car to higher ground."
