Police recovered a cache of weapons from the home of neo-Nazi Martyn Gilleard, who has been convicted of terror offences. Four nail bombs were found under a bed at Gilleard's flat. He had written of his desire for white supremacists to start "killing Muslims". Officers found a haul of what prosecutors called "potentially lethal bladed weapons". Gilleard belonged to a number of "white nationalist" groups, including the National Front and the British People's Party. Gilleard claimed in court that he had not intended to harm anyone when he built the bombs: "I'd had a couple of cans. I was just sat around bored." Jurors at Leeds Crown Court decided that he was guilty of preparing for terrorist acts and possessing articles and collecting information for terrorist purposes.
