Typhoon Fengshen has been lashing much of the Philippines, causing widespread flooding. Worst-hit were areas in the centre and south of the country. Fears have been growing about more than 700 passengers and crew of a ferry which capsized near Sibuyan island on Saturday. The capital, Manila, has not been spared the wrath of the storm that has killed many people. With winds of about 170km/h (106mph), the storm caused widespread disruption. People - and vehicles - had to negotiate flooded streets on Sunday. And there was no sign that the rain and winds were abating. But workers in the capital went out to try to restore some kind of normality.
