Thousands of fans took to the streets of Dumfries on Sunday to celebrate their team - Queen of the South - reaching the Scottish Cup final Club mascot Dougie Doonhamer was among the first on board an open-top bus which travelled around the south west Scotland town One young fan took the opportunity to get his shirt signed by Queen of the South striker Sean O'Connor Every vantage point was taken to get a better glimpse of the team which helped Queen of the South reach their first ever Scottish Cup final Every fan had their own way to thank their team for a memorable season Supporters followed the bus through the town as it headed slowly on its way towards the team's home ground at Palmerston Park The matches which took Queen of the South into European football will never be forgotten by their followers The Queen of the South players were amazed by the turnout despite their defeat by Rangers in the final Palmerston Park was filled close to capacity after the parade made its way to the Dumfries team's home ground Thank you for the dream - Queen of the South supporters never imagined that their team could push Rangers so close
