The Queen and Prince Philip arrived for their state visit at Esenboga airport on Tuesday. The Queen attended a wreath laying ceremony at Anitkabir, mausoleum of the founder of the modern Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. A state banquet at the Presidential Palace in Ankara was held in honour of the Queen and Prince Philip on Tuesday night. The Queen visited a shop in the historic Silk Bazaar in Bursa, western Turkey. The Queen visited the Green Mosque, in Turkey's northwest city of Bursa, during which she wore a headscarf. Turkey's first lady Hayrunisa Gul accompanied the Queen to a fashion show wearing an Islamic headscarf, attracting controversy.
