As the Victorian Society celebrates its 50th anniversary, it is still fighting to protect numerous buildings including Moseley Road Baths, Birmingham, already partially closed.

Since it was sold to developers in 2002, the Grade II-listed Frank James Memorial Hospital in the Isle of Wight has been repeatedly vandalised. Its future is unclear.

With its 300ft spire, its steep hammerbeam roof and its vast internal space, St Walburge's in Preston is a magnificent Roman Catholic church. It is currently facing closure.

Easington Colliery school has stood empty since closure in 1998. Developers applied to demolish it and build houses. Permission has been refused, but it is still under threat.

Brockhole, on Lake Windermere, home of Beatrix Potter's cousin Edith, is currently unlisted and threatened with demolition to make way for a new visitor centre.
