British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is visiting India as part of a tour of some of the world's emerging economic powers. Mr Brown, who also visited China, has used the visit to urge reform of international institutions, including the United Nations and the World Bank. Mr Brown was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Delhi University in New Delhi. The British premier also had talks Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He will hold talks with the Indian leader on Monday. Mr Brown also met children taking part in a new sports project called International Inspiration, in New Delhi. The project is an attempt to forge sporting links between the UK and other countries, including India, and will try to make sure the 2012 Olympics leave a lasting legacy internationally. Mr Brown and his wife, Sarah, also paid their respects at the memorial to Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi.
