Fans waited for hours in London's Leicester Square on Thursday to see Johnny Depp at the premiere of Sweeney Todd.

Depp, who plays Todd, spent time meeting fans and patiently signing autographs.

Helena Bonham Carter was also there. She says the role of Todd's sidekick Mrs Lovett is one she always wanted to play.

Alan Rickman was also popular with fans, despite playing the villain Judge Turpin.

19-year-old Jayne Wisener plays Johanna.

Director Tim Burton said he was looking for a cast of actors who could sing.
