Pilgrims circle the Kaaba inside the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Millions of Muslims marked the last day of the annual Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam.

After walking around the Kaaba at the centre of the mosque, pilgrims walk back and forth between the stations of Safa to Marwa.

The ritual has been one of the most dangerous points of the Hajj, the location of frequent stampedes. Two years ago, more than 360 pilgrims died in a crush.
