More than 150 passengers and crew have been rescued after the expedition ship MS Explorer hit an iceberg in Antarctica. The ship ran into trouble about 120km (75 miles) north of the Antarctic Peninsula. Passengers and crew took to lifeboats after being ordered to abandon ship after it began to take in water. The MS Explorer, which had been in service since the 1960s, had recently undergone repairs. A webcam image from on board the attending MS Nordnorge shows the ship's listing angle. The 2,400-tonne vessel later sank once everyone was off board. None of the passengers or crew were injured.
