Baylham Rare Breeds Farm in Suffolk was at the heart of investigations after Britain's first case of bluetongue disease was found there.

The farm is home to rare sheep, pygmy goats, chickens, pigs and alpacas.

Bluetongue is spread by midges and can infect sheep, cattle, goats and deer. Humans are not at risk.

Access to the farm was restricted by police. A 20km control zone was later put in place around four infected premises after the disease was found to have spread.

Behind cordons of obsolete MAFF tape, Defra conducted tests on five infected animals and concluded the UK had a bluetongue outbreak.
