In pictures: Benicassim festival

The crowd

Spain's Benicassim festival has drawn to a close after five days, with more than 150,000 tickets sold.

Arctic Monkeys

Sheffield band The Arctic Monkeys were among the headline acts. Nearly one-third of people attending the festival, situated between Barcelona and Valencia, are from Britain.

Sofa

Some fans opted not to leave home comforts behind as they attended the event, dubbed Glasto del Sol.

Iggy Pop

Veteran rockers Iggy Pop and the Stooges put on an energetic show to rival newcomers like The Klaxons, Rufus Wainwright and Amy Winehouse.

B52s

The self-styled "best party band in the world", Georgia's the B52s, rattled through hits like Rock Lobster, Love Shack and Planet Claire.

Men dressed as bananas

Performances kicked off late in the evening and ran through the night, allowing revellers to spend the day sunbathing. Or dressing as bananas.

Antony Hegarty

Antony Hegarty, of Antony and the Johnsons, was one of the acts who helped make the 13th Benicassim festival the biggest yet.
