The cast of The Sopranos have gathered in Florida for a special screening of the mob drama's final episode. Actors including Steven Van Zandt, who played Sil, were mobbed by media and fans as they arrived on the red carpet. The programme, based around mob boss Tony Soprano, began in 1999 and has won 18 Emmy awards for the HBO network. A separate screening in New York involved Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who was student Meadow Soprano - Tony's daughter. Fans also gathered to watch the finale at Satin Dolls in New Jersey, the venue portrayed as the Bada Bing strip club. Tony Sirico, who played Paulie, said the cast were "heartbroken" that the show ended. "We could go on forever." Three different endings were reportedly filmed so the plot remained secret until Sunday's broadcast in the US. The final episode will be seen in the UK "before the end of the year", Channel 4 said, but it has not yet fixed a date.
