The 52nd International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale opens on 10 June. Among the work on show is How To Blow Up Two Heads At Once by Nigeria's Yinka Shonibare. Moroccan Mounir Fatmi has recreated Manhattan's skyline using loudspeakers. The exhibition, in Venice's historic city centre, showcases art from 77 countries. US artist Emily Prince has hand-drawn 3,556 portraits of American servicemen and women who died in Iraq. The Biennale attracts art enthusiasts from around the world, including Sir Elton John. Britain is represented by Tracey Emin, who says the show is the "most important" of her career. She has submitted several pieces dealing with child abuse and her 1990 abortion. Ears With Chair, by Japanese artist Yukio Fujimoto, invites visitors to sit with their ears pressed up against two long cylinders. This large-scale sculpture, Tijuanatanjierchandelier, is by US installation artist Jason Rhoades, who died last year. About 100 artists are involved in the Biennale exhibition. Argentina's Guillermo Kuitca has submitted 38 canvasses from his ongoing Diarios series. Conceptual artist Sophie Calle represents France. Her show features 107 women who were asked to interpret an email signalling the end of a relationship. Argentina's Leon Ferrari is among the artists taking part in the exhibition, whose title and theme is Think with the Senses Feel with the Mind: Art in the Present Tense.
