TV's most familiar stars shone at the British Soap Awards at BBC Television Centre. Amongst them was Tina O'Brien, from Coronation Street, which was named best soap. A night out for the boys from Albert Square, but EastEnders only had one award to celebrate. EastEnders' Lacey Turner, who won the award for best dramatic performance, shunned top designers in favour of a dress from High Street shop Zara. Another starlet at the awards was Hollyoaks' Sarah Dunn, who took time to sign autographs for the assembled fans. She plays Mandy Richardson in the Chester-based soap. Veteran actress June Brown, famous for her role as Dot Branning in EastEnders, cut an elegant look at this year's British Soap Awards. Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays Belle Dingle in Emmerdale, beams with delight as she clutches her award for best dramatic performance from a youngster. Gemma Bissix, who won villain of the year for her role as Clare Cunningham in Hollyoaks, gets close to her award. The Street's Kym Ryder celebrates being named best newcomer with actor Danny Dyer and model Lisa Snowdon. Graeme Hawley (left), who has appeared on both Emmerdale and Coronation Street, is pictured with Corrie colleagues Sam Ashton and Jennie McAlpine. Gemma Merna, who stars in Hollyoaks as Carmel McQueen, added a touch of glamour to the proceedings with her daring dress. Former EastEnders star Wendy Richard won the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by her on-screen son Todd Carty.
