Johnny Depp led the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End at the film's world premiere in Disneyland, Los Angeles, on Saturday. The Pirates series has become one of the most successful film franchises of recent years, with the first two instalments taking $1.7bn at global box offices. Actor Geoffrey Rush was accompanied to the premiere by the monkey that sits on the shoulder of his character, Barbossa, in the films. Orlando Bloom, who plays Will Turner, was among the film's other stars on the red carpet. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards said he persuaded his band to take a week off so he could film his part as Captain Jack Sparrow's father. British talent was also present in the form of Bill Nighy, who appears as the evil Davy Jones. The movie will reach cinemas around the world between 23-25 May. Johnny Depp will swap his pirate ship for a barber's shop for his next film role, playing the lead in a big screen version of Sweeney Todd.
