Australia lifted the Cricket World Cup after beating Sri Lanka in Saturday's final - with some fans doing just about anything to get their team in a winning spirit. (Pictures by Soutik Biswas) Noisy Australian fans packed a number of stands - some of them dressed up for the occasion. New Zealand lost their semi-final to Sri Lanka, but some of their supporters made it to the game. The game was delayed due to rain, but fans found other ways to entertain themselves. There was hope for Sri Lankans as their cricketers put up a spirited performance. Even West Indian supporters in the stands cheered on when Sri Lanka fought back. But it was Australia's fans who celebrated, as Ricky Ponting's men beat Sri Lanka by 53 runs. An Indian fan signed off his World Cup outside the Kensington Oval in Barbados with a plug for the next event.
