The Lonely Planet Blue list has tipped Northern Ireland as a "must-see" destination for 2007. Beautiful scenes like the Giant's Causeway have helped it to the accolade. As well as stunning natural views, NI boasts some fine city architecture. Highlights include Derry's city walls - one of the few intact city walls in Europe. The Antrim Coast Road, built in the 1830s, hugs the coast around headlands and bays for 22 miles. The book also calls Belfast a "city on the rise". Attractions include City Hall, completed in 1906 to reflect Belfast's expanding status and prestige. NI's golf courses are among the best in the world. Royal Portrush Golf Club is considered one of the most challenging. The "Mountains of Mourne" were designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty in 1966. The guide describes NI's cities "as pulsating". Nowhere is this more apparent than in the pubs.
