Soprano Katherine Jenkins returned to the Alderman Davies Church in Wales School in Neath on Wednesday where she spent eight years as a child.

The singer was on hand to launch a book full of photos about the school's history and its pupils - past and present.

Pupils gave the singe a welcome fit for a pop star and she promised to send each one a signed photograph.

The main reason for her visit was to launch the book and parents and past pupils took the chance to have her sign copies.

One of the first copies was given to pupil Chloe Harrison who has been recovering from a serious illness.
