The Toy Retailers Association has unveiled its "Hot Dozen Toys" for Christmas 2006 - among them this Pixel Chisel Mall. Its list features glamorous dolls, fast cars and plenty of other modern takes on old favourites. The toys were drawn from a list of 72, and include this doll, complete with birth certificate, potty and "magic eyes". This Dr Who Cyberman mask turns the voice of the wearer into that of a Cyberman, as seen on the BBC TV series. Another candidate for annoying the grandparents: the Car Fast Talkin' McQueen "speaks" 30 phrases. Manufacturers are hoping the electronic Deal or No Deal board game proves as popular as the show it is based on. Other toys are aimed at the older "bling" generation, including this Bratz doll with jewellery featuring a real diamond. A radio control means that the new Let's Dance Barbie can move in time with her owner. Thomas the Tank Engine is also back as Thomas Aquadraw - which draws on a special mat using a water-filled pen. For wholesome fun, and just a bit of mess, the Paper FX Dream Weaver turns used magazines into decorations. Many of the toys boast a "learning experience", including this V Smile aimed at babies as young as nine months old. The latest Tamagotchi, the craze from Japan, is another reinvented old favourite with a string of new games.
