The wreckage of a Brazilian airliner which crashed on Friday carrying 155 passengers has been found in the Amazonian state of Mato Grosso in Brazil.

Dozens of anxious relatives and friends of those missing gathered at airports in Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Manaus, seeking information about their loved ones.

However, there is no sign of survivors at the crash site and Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva has declared three days of national mourning.

Gol Airline's President Constantino de Oliveira attended a press conference to discuss the first major crash involving the company, founded in 2001.

Local hospitals are standing by - but if no survivors are found, the crash will become Brazil's worst-ever air disaster.
