Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, daughters of the Duke of York, also took part in the ceremony. The Queen and husband Prince Phillip reviewed the troops on parade. A 49-plane flypast featured the Hawks of the Red Arrows and a Canberra bomber. The Queen clapped as the fleet of aircraft - modern jets and vintage warplanes - roared over central London. The Queen's birthday is on 21 April, but is officially celebrated in June. Troops fired their rifles as a salute to the Queen as the Royal Family looked on from the balcony. A Cavalry horse broke with the strict discipline of the parade, kicking a soldier during the event.
