Fire crews from across mid and west Wales were called to fight the blaze at Penyrheol Comprehensive School.

The adjoining leisure centre survived the blaze but was smoke-damaged.

Some of the pupils at the school visited the scene to survey the damage on Saturday .

Sixty firefighters helped bring the blaze under control but it left devastating damage

The school is expected to be closed for up to 10 days as education officials plan for the next step
