People in South Asia are marking the first anniversary of a quake which killed 75,000 people and left millions homeless. Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf led a wreath-laying ceremony and a minute's silence in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir. This woman attended a memorial ceremony in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, to remember those who died in the collapse of an apartment building, the Margalla Towers. Relatives of those that died at the Margalla site laid flowers in memory of their loved ones. An overnight vigil was also held in Islamabad. One year on, about 400,000 people in northern Pakistan face a second harsh winter without permanent shelter. On Saturday about 1,000 survivors protested in Islamabad, accusing officials of embezzling relief funds.
