The original Dukes of Hazzard boys were played by Tom Wopat (Luke Duke, left) and John Schneider (Bo Duke, right). The handsome cousins lived with their Uncle Jesse and shorts-wearing cousin Daisy on a farm in Hazzard County. In the new film, which is released in the US on 5 August and in the UK on 26 August, Luke Duke is played by Jackass actor Johnny Knoxville (left), while Bo is played by American Pie star Seann William Scott (right). Luke and Bo's sidekick Daisy Duke was played by brunette Catherine Bach in the original TV series, which ran from 1979 to 1985. She left in 1983. In the Hollywood version, Daisy Duke is played by blonde-haired singer and actress Jessica Simpson. The Duke brothers had a running battle with corrupt town leader Jefferson Davis 'Boss' Hogg (right) and his half-wit sidekick Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane (left). 'Boss' Hogg was played by Sorrell Booke. Veteran actor Burt Reynolds dons "Boss" Hogg's white suit and cowboy hat in the film version. Luke and Bo often found themselves in trouble with Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane, played by James Best. Actor M C Gainey plays Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane - with his basset hound Flash - in the remake.
