BBC News website received photos of the tornado that hit Birmingham on Thursday. Naveed described how the clouds seem to rise and curve quickly upwards when the tornado swept though Small Heath. Noel Welsh captured the flood in Barnes Hill and said children were swimming in the rainwater that came up to chest level. An uprooted tree in Billsley Lane was photographed by Nick Warren. Tiles tumbled from Peter Causton's house during the tornado. Michael Atkinson took this photograph showing broken windows and the blown-off roof of a local building. The tornado caused damage near Robert Bluck's home.
