Spanish firefighters are continuing to battle a forest fire which has claimed the lives of 11 volunteers. Hundreds of homes were evacuated in Guadalajara province after the fire started on Saturday. A barbecue is believed to have caused the fire, which has been fanned by strong winds making conditions difficult. Emergency services have fought the fire by land and air - with special helicopters bringing in water. Volunteers, like those who died, joined in efforts to beat back the flames. The fires have been made worse by the fact that Spain is suffering a severe drought in many parts of the country. The bodies of the volunteer firefighters who died on Sunday have been recovered, but the fire continues.
