Hurricane Dennis has begun hitting the Florida Keys, where a warning is in place. This picture of an airport on Key West was sent in by BBC News website user W J Lilley. In Jamaica, BBC News website user A Ilhan took this picture of a boy carrying his bicycle through flood waters. A Jamaican man and two young children look helpless as high flood waters flow through the home they are in. Photograph by A Ilhan. Dennis made landfall in Cuba, where residents had been preparing for its arrival. At least 10 people are thought to have died, and coastal areas have been evacuated. The storm caused major damage in Haiti, where at least five were killed and many more are missing. Tens of thousands were left stranded, after bridges collapsed and landslides blocked roads. In the coastal town of Les Cayes, women took cover from the rainstorm. But the weather did not put some Haitian boys off their kickabout. Earlier in Jamaica, high winds knocked down electrical posts and uprooted trees. Some Jamaican towns were cut off by floodwaters. Dennis could also hit eastern Florida in the US, where a state of emergency has been declared.
