Live 8 in pictures: Misha Kozyrev

BBC News website reader and contributor Misha Kozyrev makes some notes in preparation for writing his account of the concert. Igor Vereshchagin took the photo.

Misha and some friends enjoy the concert. "The stage itself was fantastic. It was on the bridge of Red Square with the Kremlin and cathedral in view", he says.

Security guards stand in front of the Kremlin. "The Kremlin bells would ring out every hour, punctuating the acts, with special Russian significance".

Misha secured a backstage pass and was able to take this photo of the facilities, including the Pet Shop Boys very own portable toilet.

Around 10,000 revellers watched Russian bands like Moral Code X and B-2 at the event in Red Square.

As the event drew to a close, the night sky was lit up by the grand finale of the show.
