Sir Elton John and David Furnish appeared reluctant to face photographers as they arrived at their joint stag party in London on Monday night.

Take That's Gary Barlow - who arrived with his wife - was among the guests at the Soho nightclub.

Fellow musician Bryan Adams was also the party, ahead of Sir Elton and Mr Furnish's civil partnership ceremony in Windsor on Wednesday.

Cilla Black said she planned to buy the couple the "tackiest toaster" she could find as a present.

TV presenter Paul O'Grady, who hosted the event, joked he was going to tie Sir Elton and Mr Furnish to a lamp post and "cover them with shaving foam".

Pop icon Lulu has been friends with Sir Elton for many years.

US singer Kid Rock serenaded Sir Elton when he received Kennedy Center honours last year.
