Prince Charles chatted with the stars at the royal premiere of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, including Georgie Henley, who plays Lucy Pevensie in the film. The traditional red carpet was replaced by an ice blue one to reflect the film's wintry theme. Ray Winstone, who voices Mr Beaver, brought his family to the premiere. Dawn French, who plays Mrs Beaver, happily posed with two of the young stars of the film, Georgie Henley and Anna Popplewell, who play Lucy and Susan. Prince Charles was accompanied to the charity gala screening at the Royal Albert Hall by wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. Douglas Gresham, the stepson of Narnia author CS Lewis, came along to the premiere to lend his support. James McAvoy, who plays Mr Tumnus, brought along girlfriend Anne-Marie Duff as his guest. The pair met when they were co-starring in the sitcom Shameless. Comic Lenny Henry was there to support his wife Dawn French. He said he loved working on movies and if anyone wanted to offer him a part he would take it. Sir Roger Moore, with wife Kristina, was coy when asked about the appointment of Daniel Craig as the new James Bond actor. But he did say he may star in more films in the future. Scottish actress Tilda Swinton, who plays the evil White Witch, said she was sure CS Lewis would approve of the film, despite him opposing one ever being made.
