Scottish art-rockers Franz Ferdinand continued their winning streak at the NME Awards, which were held at Hammersmith Palais on Thursday night. They won the Best Album and Best Track Titles at the event, where the winners were voted for by NME readers.
Peter Hook, of New Order

New Order, who walked away with the Godlike Genius Award, performed at the event.
Sir Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney, who collected the Best Festival award with Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis for his gig at the event, said: "Glastonbury is the best festival ever. It always has been and it always will be."
Goldie Lookin' Chain
4 of 8
Welsh rappers Goldie Lookin' Chain were not nominated for any awards but attended the ceremony nonetheless.
Bloc Party
5 of 8
Bloc Party, a band hotly-tipped for success in 2005, walked away from the event empty-handed. They had been nominated in the Best New Band category, but missed out to Razorlight.
Graham Coxon
6 of 8
Former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon performed at the ceremony. He beat Ian Brown, Eminem, The Streets and Morrissey to win the Best Solo Artist award.
Muse
7 of 8
Muse walked away with the award for Best Live Band. But they lost out to The Libertines in the Best British Band category.
Noel Gallagher
8 of 8
Oasis won the Best Music DVD award. When the band were named as winners singer, Liam Gallagher had disappeared, prompting his brother, Noel, to quip: "I think he's a little overwhelmed or in the toilet being very 1995."
