Kate Ford celebrated with co-star Shobna Gulati when Coronation Street swept to victory in the best soap category at the TV Quick and TV Choice Awards. TV favourite Shane Ritchie picked up the best soap actor prize for his EastEnders role as Alfie Moon. And Lacey Turner, who plays Albert Square bad girl Stacey Slater, was named best soap newcomer. Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Tate in Emmerdale, was crowned best soap actress, beating June Brown (Dot Branning) from EastEnders and Coronation Street's Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow). Small screen favourite Paul O'Grady took the award for best daytime show. Helen Latham, Laila Rouass and Sarah Barrand, stars of Footballers Wives, brought glamour to the ceremony when they picked up the award for best loved drama. Veteran entertainer Bruce Forsyth was on hand to collect the best entertainment show award for the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing... ...his co-star Tess Daly also attended the ceremony at Dorchester Hotel on London's Park Lane. I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! - which starred Nacy Sorrell - triumphed over Big Brother in the best reality show category. TV presenter and Celebrity Love Island winner Jayne Middlemiss was also at the awards, which were voted for by readers of TV Quick and TV Choice.
