In pictures: Greek air crash

A Boeing 737 flying from Cyprus to the Czech capital Prague via Athens crashed on a hillside north of the Greek capital on Sunday.

Greek military jets were scrambled after contact was lost with the plane and the pilots were seen doubled up over their controls.

Emergency services were quickly on the scene but the aircraft broke up on impact and wreckage is scattered over a wide area.

Dense black smoke billowed from several small fires and aircraft dropped water as rescue workers fanned out.

Rescue services said there were no immediate signs of survivors from the Helios Airways flight, which had at least 121 on board.

The cause of the crash has yet to be established, but officials suspect problems with cabin pressure or oxygen supply.
