Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik has married his Australian bride Mary Elizabeth Donaldson in a fairytale wedding in Copenhagen.

The couple met in a Sydney bar during the 2000 Olympics.

Mary, 32, wore a simple but elegant wedding dress with a folded train and a veil made from 100-year-old Irish lace.

Copenhagen Bishop Svend Norman Svendsen conducted the ceremony. Mary has delighted Danes by converting to the Lutheran Church.

Mary walked down the aisle of Our Lady's Cathedral with her father John, a maths professor. She will be known as Crown Princess Mary.
