Big Brother - 'Nasty Nick' out
Big Brother confrontation
Nick Harvey confronted by Sandra Gidley and Ronnie Fearn? Oops, wrong Nick!
'Nasty' Nick Harvey is the latest victim of the Liberal Democrat conference version of 'Big Brother.'

The health spokesman lived up to the scheming reputation of his TV namesake and was evicted after being accused of using underhand tactics.

Organisers say the front-bencher has been handing out leaflets to support his campaign, in breach of the rules.

Since the conference began at the weekend three other MPs have been thrown out - Colin Breed, Lembit Opik, and Donald Gorrie.

And then there were three...

Three MPs remain - tourism spokesman Ronnie Fearn, former leadership contendor Jackie Ballard and the party's latest by-election victor, Sandra Gidley.

The send-up competition was started by the conference news sheet, the Bournemouth Gazette, on Monday morning and has proved popular with delegates.

Voting is taking place overnight to decide the winner, in time for the close of conference tomorrow.

But rather surprisingly the party has abandoned its traditional voting system of proptional representation. Instead it will be decided under first-past-the-post.
