Brown on new Afghan strategy

Gordon Brown has said that more development and civilian support will be given to Afghanistan.

He said that as many as 200,000 local troops would be trained and that a bigger Afghan army is needed if the country is to "preserve it's own security in the future."

Earlier, President Barack Obama outlined his strategy to combat an "increasingly perilous" situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
