On 4 March 1986 the Today newspaper was launched and promoted itself as Britain's first colour daily newspaper.

This photograph shows Today newspaper founder Eddie Shah (left) with former editor Brian MacArthur and printer Kevin Clarke looking at dummy copies of Today newspaper two months before its launch.

On 17 November 1995 the Today newspaper was published for the last time, the first national newspaper to cease publication since the Daily Sketch in 1971.
