Huge hole swallows truck

A sinkhole in Texas began as cracks in the road but soon grew to 90 metres across and swallowed an 18-wheeler truck and oil equipment.

Hugh Bishop, of Liberty County Sheriffs Department, said no homes had been evacuated, and schools and business remained open.

He added that the hole might have been caused by a salt dome that collapsed.
