Robbie, 35, gained fame in 1989 when he mastered a stunt that nearly killed his father in a spectacular crash 21 years earlier. He successfully jumped 150 feet (45 metres) over the fountains at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. In his 1967 attempt, Evel Knievel landed in hospital for a month after crashing head-over-handlebars.
